powerTRIP
Josey Wardle (Innovate UK) opening powerTRIP - the UK's first zero carbon ebike charger. powerTRIP was designed, built and installed by intelliGEN on Newcastle's iconic quayside in Spring 2022. You can read the full article in Forbes Magazine.
Biogas
In early 2020, after some desk-based study, Geoff Wallman travelled to Bangladesh in his role as Research Fellow at Newcastle University to experiment with biogas production and use. In this picture, Niloy Safwatul from Oxfam is examining a prototype thermoelectric generator for charging mobile devices from waste heat. Intelligen were not instructed directly in this project.
Decarbonisation of Marine Transport
Marine transport has historically used heavier oils as their main fuel source. Alternatives are key to decarbonisation of this sector. This picture is from a project with Meyer Turku where investigations were underway to recover waste energy from the various thermal gradients on board a modern vessel such as Viking Grace (pictured).
IntelliSOL Future Fuels
Combustion is perhaps a dirty word given the current trend towards electrification but some combustion driven processes are inevitable and perhaps desirable. The production of low carbon or circular fuels for use in existing or lightly modified plant is part of the conversation. IntelliGEN is developing reprocessing technology to make this commercially viable
Waste Plastic Recycling
It may the case that for some time yet, single-use plastic remains a problem, especially for specialist sectors such as healthcare. IntelliGEN is active in the space of plastic repurposing and reprocessing with key partners. To discuss our work, please get in touch.
Novel Heat / Electricity Generation
We have ongoing projects in novel heat and electricity generation at sub-grid scale. We can deploy a range of testing and modelling strategies and construct a system to meet most requirements.
